Dr Naveen K Srinivasan heads the corneal transplant and refractive surgery department at Madurai Eye Center. He is an alumnus of Coimbatore Medical College and went on to pursue Master’s in Ophthalmology at Aravind Eye Hospital and Post Graduate Institute at Madurai. 

Hailing from an institute that focuses on preventing needless blindness, has driven him to focus his attention on becoming a cornea specialist, as it is here that the surgeons have the greatest impact on improving, maintaining, and restoring eyesight. He then pursued a fellowship in Cornea & Anterior segment at the prestigious LV Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad. 

With an enriched experience of doing more than 100 corneal transplant that includes penetrating keratoplasty, endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK, DMEK), Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty(DALK), Stem Cell Transplantation (SLET), and Mucus Membrane Grafting, he joined Madurai Eye Center in January 2021. 

He does meticulous pre-operative work-up and guides patients to make the right choice of Refractive Surgery (LASIK, PRK, ICL). He is calm and composed and alleviates anxiety through the process of laser refractive surgery. 

His special area of interest is in treating Keratoconus, Ocular Allergies, and Dry eyes. He is specialized in doing thorough dry eye evaluations and treating based on the root cause. He has experience in using topical immunomodulators and collaborates with rheumatologists and endocrinologists in treating autoimmune diseases with severe dry eye.
